Executives from RMS International discuss cybersecurity with Kravis Center Board member Evan Deoul
(West Palm Beach, Fla.) –The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts held its first Corporate Partners Business Speaker Series luncheon of the season with RMS International on Wednesday, December 11 in the Kravis Center’s Gimelstob Ballroom in the Cohen Pavilion. The luncheon presentation was sponsored by NYU Langone Health.
Founded in 2013, West Palm Beach based RMS International converged the collective expertise of intelligence, law enforcement, and military professionals to provide ad hoc and long-term security solutions in the private and corporate arena. Matt Nelson, COO; Angela Hogaboom, Senior Cybersecurity Consultant; Jason David, Director of Risk Intelligence and Manny Dimov, Senior Cybersecurity Consultant were interviewed by Evan Deoul, Kravis Center Board member and Regional Senior Managing Director of Bernstein Private Wealth Management.
More than 85 Corporate Partners members and guests attended the event. Corporate Partners Executive Committee Chair and Kravis Center Board member James Coleman welcomed guests and thanked the attending members and donors for their generous support before introducing the panel.
In addition to topics including physical security, cybersecurity, antivirus programs, ransomware, phishing and identity theft, Mr. Nelson provided the audience with tips on situational awareness and being cyber aware when traveling, especially abroad.
“You should always limit your personal information when traveling,” said Mr. Nelson. “Carry only your passport and one or two credit cards. If you aren’t driving where you are traveling, keep your license at home. In addition, avoid public Wi-Fi. If you have to connect, use a VPN to encrypt your data. Be mindful of your surroundings. If something doesn’t feel right, leave the situation immediately. It’s better to be overly cautious than to regret ignoring warning signs.”
The next Corporate Partners Business Speaker Series luncheon will take place Friday, January 10, 2025. The presentation will feature Byron Trott, Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer with merchant bank BDT & MSD Partners. Paul Leone, CEO of The Breakers Palm Beach and Kravis Center Vice Chair will moderate.
