Mar 13, 2026 |Alexander W. Dreyfoos Concert Hall

Stéphane Denève, Artistic Director
Augustin Hadelich, violin

Founded as America’s Orchestral Academy by Michael Tilson-Thomas, the New World Symphony comes from Miami for their first performance at the Kravis Center with their celebrated new Artistic Director, and MTT’s first successor, Stéphane Denève. German-American violinist, Augustin Hadelich, is considered one of the great violinists of our time, known for his phenomenal technique, insightful and persuasive interpretations, and ravishing tone, who tours extensively around the world. In a program entitled Denève and Hadelich: The Hollywood Sound, they will perform Korngold’s glamorous, glittering Violin Concerto—an extraordinary fusion of Viennese romance and Old Hollywood, Korngold’s movie overtures, and Strauss’ well-known and romantic tone poem, Also sprach Zarathustra.

Program to include:
Max Steiner, Main Theme from King Kong
Korngold, Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream (after F. Mendelssohn)
Korngold, Overture to The Sea-Hawk
Korngold, Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35
INTERMISSION
Strauss, Also sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30
